Maybe we can take up a collection

and pay Hargrove not to put Putz in after Sherrill. Seriously, did George insult JJ's girlfriend or something? What percentage of George's career runs allowed have scored on Putz's watch? This seems personal.

The good: Hargrove calls on Sherrill in a tie game in the 8th. He gets a tough out, should have had more than one K - looked solid all around. George looked good - hitting 93 according to the TV radar gun.

The bad: Gives up no hits, and takes the hard-luck loss.

There are a lot of positives to take from today's game. Johjima's home run was encouraging, Lopez hung tough, and Reed's long double was perhaps the best sign of all. This team can win some games.

I'll scribble down some thoughts on the game soon. Good game, bad results. Umpiring got in the way.

George pitched FABULOUSLY! Definitely didn't deserve the loss. It's especially hard when he had Kotchman struck out twice.

While Putz really deserves the loss, still, he suffered the same bad umpiring that George faced. Putz had Figgins struck out at least twice, too, before Figgins walked. I knew that when Figgins stole second, that second run that scored on the Cabrera hit was going to be the game winner. Lo and behold who comes up to pinch-hit a HR?

Yeah. "Petagine for DH..."

Definitely quite a bit to be optimistic about. Petagine for DH - yeah, I like the sound of that.
